Terminal Setup
This article explains the fields and options available on the Terminal configuration screen. These options can be found in: Settings -> Sales -> Terminals
General Settings
| Field | Description |
| Terminal Number | The unique identifier for this terminal. |
| Terminal Number | A friendly name for the terminal (e.g. "Terminal 1"). |
| Location | The area or department the terminal is assigned to (e.g. "Shop", "Bar"). |
| Layout | The screen layout template applied to this terminal (e.g. "Default" or "Compact"). |
| Printer Service Name | The connected print service/device handling receipt printing for this terminal. |
| Always Print Receipts Over | Automatically prints a receipt when the sale total exceeds this value. |
| Capture Customer Over | Prompts to capture customer details when the sale total exceeds this value. |
| Xeft Card Machine S/N | Serial number of the linked card payment terminal. (Xeft only) |
| With Drawer | Whether a cash drawer is attached to this terminal. |
| Drawer open | Whether the cash drawer opens automatically on every transaction |
| Merchant Copy | Prints a merchant receipt copy automatically. (Xeft only) |
| Customer Copy | Prints a customer receipt copy automatically. (Xeft only) |
Options
| Option | Description |
| Require Pin | Requires staff PIN entry to use the terminal. (see additional guide) |
| Allow Basket Discount | Permits discounts to be applied to the whole basket. |
| Allow Trade Ins | Enables trade-in transactions on this terminal. |
| Show Export | Displays the export tax option on the terminal. Setting up export tax |
| Sales Terminal | Designates this as a sales-enabled terminal. |
| Discount Outstanding | Allows discounting of full outstanding balances. |
| Negative Stock Warning | Warns staff when a sale would take stock below zero. |
| Capture Email | Prompts for customer email capture during sale. |
| Use Secure Cash | Enables secure cash handling features. Setting up secure cash |
| Allow Split | Splits products in the sales basket where quantity is more than 1 |
| Print Return Label | Ask to print a label for returned items. |
Sale Complete Action
Determines what happens once a sale is finished:
- Ask – Prompts the user to choose the next action.
- Return to Sales List – Automatically returns to the sales list.
- Start New Sale – Immediately starts a new sale.
Combine Kit Products
Controls how kit/bundle products are combined on receipts:
- Ask
- Always
- Never
Show Payment Types
Controls which payment methods are available on this terminal:
- Cash
- BACS
- Trade In
- Credit Card
- Cheque
- 3rd Party
- Debit Card
- Voucher
- Accounts
Customer Search (Columns 1–6)
Configures which customer data fields are visible when selecting a customer in the sales screen. Each of the six columns can be set independently via its dropdown.
