Setting up Export Tax or VAT for Export Sales.
Note: When setting up this function, please ensure by doing so that you are fully compliant with any local tax laws.
Step 1
First, we need to set up the Export VAT or Tax Rate.
Go into Settings -> Business Setup -> VAT Rates
Click on the Green + Add VAT Rate button in the top right of the screen.
Input the details for the new Export VAT Rate. The VAT Code must be set to 'Export' as shown in the screenshot below. In this example, the Export VAT Rate is configured at 0.00%. You can choose any Name you prefer.
You can also select a date that the rate will be effective from, generally this would be set to today's date.
Leave 2nd Hand deselected, it should look something like the screenshot below.
Click Save
Your new Export VAT Rate will be shown alongside your other VAT rates as shown in the screenshot below.
Step 2
We now need to activate this function for your sales terminals. You can choose to enable it for all sales terminals or just specific ones
Go to Settings -> Sales -> Terminals
Select a terminal where you want to enable the Export VAT rate function by using the checkbox.
And click Edit Terminal
In the Terminal Settings screen, select the Show Export option
And click Save
Repeat this step for all Sales Terminals where you want to be able to make a sale using the Export VAT Rate.
Now when you load the Sales Screen you will have an additional Export toggle option. To make a sale with the pre-set Export VAT Rate just enable this.
