Shopify Cloud Setup Options

here are a few setup options available. Could you please review them below and let me know if everything looks okay, and please provide any preferences regarding those in red.

 

When new products are linked from Xpos to Shopify:

  • Product Data: Core details like SKU, productid, barcode, name, attributes, sales price, etc.
  • Images: Product images stored in Xpos will be uploaded to Shopify.
  • Descriptions: Product descriptions from Xpos will be synced to Shopify.
  • MRRP (Manufacturer’s Recommended Retail Price): Can be sent if required.

 

Updating products

  • Stock Levels: Inventory quantities will be kept in sync between Xpos and Shopify linked products.
  • Sales Price: Changes to the standard sales price in Xpos will update the corresponding sales price in Shopify linked products.
  • Web Price Option: You can use a separate “web price” in Xpos, allowing different pricing for in-store vs online (Shopify).
  • Upload as Draft: New products will be added to Shopify as Draft

 

Optional Sync Settings

You can choose whether the following changes in Xpos should be reflected in Shopify:

  • Images: Do you want image updates made in Xpos to overwrite Shopify images?
  • Product Name: Should name changes in Xpos update the product name in Shopify?
  • Attributes & Labels: Should updates to product attributes (e.g., size, colour) and labels in Xpos be pushed to Shopify?
  • Descriptions: Should any changes to product description in Xpos overwrite any changes made in Shopify?

 

Generally, stock levels should update, however if you plan on making any changes to the products in Shopify then you would not want changes made to images, descriptions, attribuyes or product names made in Xpos to overwrite any changes made in Shopify.

 

Orders from Shopify will be downloaded into Xpos, but please be aware of the following:

When importing a Shopify Order, the following rules will apply.

  1. If an Order contains only products that are linked to Xpos products - import it
  2. If an Order contains only products from Shopify that are not linked to Xpos - do not import it
  3. If an Order contains a mixture of Xpos and not-Xpos - import only the linked products and set the value of this Sale to match those products. Add an Internal Note to the Sale “This Shopify Order contained unrecognised Products”

For orders from Shopify we would create an additional sales Terminal and StaffID, unless you have any preferences these would both be named Shopify.
